Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is one of the best things you can do to improve the security of your email and cloud accounts.  2FA is sometimes called multi-factor authentication (MFA) but for this discussion the terms will be synonymous.

A very popular belief is that a Mac is safer than a Windows PC.  Although it is true that the nature of Mac operating system secures it against most viruses, Macs are still vulnerable to other types of malicious software such as trojans, ransomware, cryptoviruses, spyware, adware and scareware.  Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security just because you use a Mac.  There are still many measures you must take to protect yourself from infection, data loss and identity theft.

Earlier this week I reported on a potentially serious Pokémon Go security issue that Niantic, the game’s developer, was given full access to your Google account when the app was installed on iOS devices.
