Earlier this week I reported on a potentially serious Pokémon Go security issue that Niantic, the game’s developer, was given full access to your Google account when the app was installed on iOS devices.

As suspected, this was an bug in the user registration process.

Pokemon Go is an incredibly popular game that has kids and adults wandering neighborhoods and towns seeking to catch elusive Pokemon in “augmented reality.”   It’s a wonderfully addictive game that gets kids off the sofa, away from their video game console and into the real world, even if it is “augmented.
